Hotels in the region of Fenway Park were high priced leading a value traveler to look away from general part of the field and merely commute to the game. Would we drive to the game and discover parking, have a taxi, or ride the subway? The choice was ours but the hotel staff made it perfectly clear that driving to Fenway and scavenging for parking had not been a good idea. They also weren't impressing on us that a cab was the ideal solution either. Traffic in downtown Boston is unpleasant and a fare might get costly when you are bumper to bumper with a large number of other motorists trying to navigate their way through city streets. That leaves the subway system, referred to as "T", as the most recommended form of transportation across the city. Hotel staffers were adamant in recommending the cheap riding on the bus because the most cost effective and quickest path to our destination.
The Boston subway was no more dirty or scary than any other train system we had ever ridden including New York City and Chicago but occasionally it was a little confusing. Buying tickets to ride the "T" was simple... that is, following we received the help of a security guard at the station. initially I could not figure the self-service ticket dispenser out, but watching the protection guard pass with flying colors made the procedure seem easy and even as whether or not this were designed for a child. Once aboard, the trains are colored to help relieve transfers if need be and everything seemed under control. It was fine until we boarded a train that stopped one station ahead of our destination. A statement over the speakers declared that all passengers must exit the train. Standing around the map in the station totally perplexed, a polite Boston native offered assistance without even requesting it. The advice proved priceless because the next train arrived needlessly to say and we finished our tour underneath Boston successfully. elearning solutions
The traffic in the city is only one reason driving your car or truck with the city streets unpleasant. The Charles River cuts town into sections and of course do not require are rectangular shaped for simplicity. The odd twists and turns from the roads and highways turn it into a prime area for first-time driver confusion. Age of town, which also is one of its strong points from your tourism standpoint, is partly critical to the unusual layout of roads.
